The Record of Harnessing Solar Power

Solar section technology now forms an important and rising share to solar power the planet over Sydney Solar. But where did the idea come from in the initial place? And how did the science progress to reach the stage where today firms and homes install solar systems on rooftops to create power?

It turns out that if we track the annals of harnessing solar power we reach only a little known German physicist called Alexandre Edmond Becquerel. He was a well regarded researcher in his time and is awarded with acquiring the photovoltaic effectation of sunlight on an electrode absorbed in conductive water in 1839.

However, it would get till 1873 till English electrical manufacture Willoughby Jones to discover the photoconductive qualities of selenium that more progress be made. The first solar cell was produced in 1883 by American designer Charles Fritts, which had only 1% efficiency. Later down the monitor, US patents were filed by Edward Weston in 1888, Melvin Severy in 1894 and Harry Reagan in 1897 for various designs of early solar cells.

It took several tests in photovoltaics through the 20th century by equally US and Western scientists to advance the science. Leaps were produced between 1916 and the 1920's by Robert Millikan, who tested and demonstrated the photoelectric effect existed. Polish chemist Jan Czochralski then produced a method to develop single crystals of metal for used in photovoltaic cells.

It took very nearly 100 years from A.E Becquerel's preliminary discovery to reach the 1920's when flat menu solar lovers were set to used in warm California and California to offer solar heated water heat in homes and house buildings.

From the 1920's to Post-War 40's increased consumer demand for solar systems arose due to electric shortages and outages. That triggered the requirement for solar architects, cause Bell Telephone Labs getting included and forced the get for greater performance from solar systems when solar panels gave 11% more energy than the initial gross cell.

Fast forward to the 1970's when solar cell technology had by that point been more accepted around the globe with clever uses for solar power and heat for public buildings, firms, lighthouses and slightly located off-the-grid homeowners who used it to offer effective electricity.

Australia was certainly one of places at the forefront of solar technology development. In 1982 Australian native Hans Tholstrup piloted the initial solar driven car around 2,800 miles in 20 days. Tholstrup is also the founder of the Australian World Solar Concern which remains to the existing day.

Because the 90's solar PV technology has sophisticated in their capability to utilize sunlight effortlessly and price effectiveness to the level where their learning to be a significant feature of modern homes and firms to reduce carbon emissions, offset energy expenses, do away with energy expenses entirely and in some cases become a source of passive income.
